The Leaf:

I've seen my life upon a leaf
as it fluttered on the wind-
Spiraling high then falling low
it followed 'round a bend

Of a shadowed avenue long
and straight
And I wondered then where
it would go -
As it took to a gust
and lifted heavenward
it landed softly upon the snow.

I saw my life upon a leaf
and I made sure to let it fly
All I've known and all I've done
this year had passed and I said
Good-bye.

Bittersweet indeed. Very poignant, and very well done. I loved the imagery you used here too. This poem really hits home at the heart. Kudos! :)

Thank you, at first I thought this was a random poem as it came to me suddenly and out of nowhere, but after reading it a couple times, I realize that it says something important and actually *does* have meaning...

Glad you like.
