Dreaming Beauty

When the sun is shining
Illuminating the pristine dawn
How silent and fair the pale satin face
Slumbers next to me, eyes of a fawn

Silhouettes fall across the hills;
As the sun rises,
As the morning is red,
I hear the sweet lark sing

Then I hold your hand,
Its skin softer than the silk
Which drapes over you
Slumbering in pleasant lands

I kiss your brow,
Where the smallest dab of sweat glistens
You are my heart, my life, my soul,
Quiet, still, star of dreams

a/n - I wrote this for a contest on another poetry website. The judge of the contest gave us a quatrain, and we had to use one line in each stanza. So anywho, I hope you enjoy it. :)

I just love this poem, it's so soft and sweeping.... Earthy and eloquent.

Great job, my dear.... Wonderful, wonderful....
