The Haunting

The past came back to haunt me
Stabbed me with its bitter blade
Caught me unawares and held me
Will those memories ever fade

Want to close that book for all time
Put the lid on what has been
But its maybe not the right time
Need to see what must be seen

Must accept I cannot change it
What is passed will always stay
In my memory contain it
Tis the price that I must pay.

Yes, a slight chill, but very well written. The rhyme and flow were spot on. :)
