She steps onto the pavement, one foot still in the air, when he comes into view. The sun is shining upon him, a halo bright and subtle crowning his reddish blonde hair. But it's hardly this that attracts her so, his eyes meet hers, so turbulent like a green-blue sea. In that instant she feels the world shift, an ache setting low and deep within her. She cannot move. He nears, his eyes still holding hers and she is forced to cast her glance downward, but only momentarily. Sure enough, as she dares to rise again, he is there, so very close that now she can see the long, lean form of his body. He passes in moments, twenty maybe thirty seconds, miniscule time in the broad spectrum, but for her, it was a lifetime. And as he fades into the crowd of the city behind her, she watches after him all the while thinking, "I would love you forever."
