In the silence I read your poem One who is following my lead Listen to the cries to the north I have bonded my words on paper It is for you to listen One who ignore shall hear the forever shame It is in these words I have found my chance This is what I have found Now it is time for a change I hear the meaning grasping in my direction I feel the pain buried beneath my soul My pen shall write However there is nothing to put down I shall forget this night Live past the open light Swallows me whole to never be found Crystal blue palace couldn't be more clear to me Foundation to crack beneath me I have seen many things Remembered many things Forgot how to write them down In the silence I am the only audience in your poem Paper litters my mind Words blind me The pen piercing me to my death It is the silence that covers me I am in your poem One who forgot to read it I close my eyes to view your meaning There is nothing here Blank sheets of paper Your silence My pen This old poem I read to you I forgot there is no one to listen Silence is my home
Oh it's so great to have you here, John. Truly! And what a wonderful piece to post as your opening work! I love these lines: "I have seen many things Remembered many things Forgot how to write them down" Hope to see you around often! ~Lady Poe
