* I rarely do contemporary poetry, but I came up with this, so decided, what the hell*
Throwing myself into the lyrics of Damien Rice, I drift along a turbulent breeze of emotions. How is it that someone I have never met, listening to his voice and guitar- Can integrate their thoughts with mine so Tightly coiled that I lose track of space And time?
Oh, I know what youre singing about And I feel the depths of betrayal and want Like you. If only I could sing, I'd belt out a sonnet Of flightless angels and of darkened trials Where any tribulation to be crossed rises up Steep and craggy.
Move me with your voice, so powerful and Erotic, lifting my skirts to take a peek at My woman ( a skill all musicians have). But it is when the chords consume me that I sift through sands of something outside The realm of all I know and really begin To think.
I sit and I listen. I think and I dream. Any moment I'll wake back up and look Down at these hands of mine, holding Nothing, and lick these lips that taste Emptiness. I don't look forward to that Moment, so I immerse myself here and Now, in the music.

I found this very appealing. Very emotive. Made me wonder with you. Made me question myself. Powerful writing!
I know how you feel! And you know me and music as well :) I don't go long without it. As for the poem, I feel every bit of emotion pouring from your words! Wonderful job!
