Last Day, First Day


As Father Time makes his weary way
To New Year's Door,
He stops,
And contemplates
On what has been and gone.

He brushes aside the cobwebs of the past
Finds endless halls
Of memory and
With knowing smile,
He leaves the door ajar.

He slowly moves on to a new sunrise,
Guided by light
He stops,
Breathes in the dawn
And heads into the year.

beautiful! the Queen should read this publicly at the New Year ceremonies! Incredible imagery and so very well written! Congratulations!

Love this one.. .There's just something about it, something I just can't name... (go figure that one, how often does that happen?)

I especially enjoy the middle stanza. Great visionary details there :)
