Love's Vessel

Beyond that golden horizon
She awaits her ship which sails
Upon the winds of never having
And a loveless bond that fails

To keep her heavy burdens where
Shed plant both feet upon the ground
Tho often times she tries to remain
Shes spun around and around.

Dearest ship, your sails are blowing
And the seas rise up to torment
Your bow, it dips and plummets
As fate calls your final moment.

There is no sun for her to greet
As her love smashes cold stone
The winds die down to static
Leaving the hollowed vessel alone.

Her worries then die fading
With the single sighing breath
She tosses herself into the waves
And bids farewell with her graceful
Death.

Very impressive. Almost metaphorical for so many things! Well done My dragon Lady.

Well done, indeed!

Very nice metaphores, as bravestone mentioned. :) The feeling and tone of the poem were just right too. I can't explain it, but it was. :D The ending was chilling! Wonderful job Poe. I loved it! :D

Very astute, bravestone!! There is an enormous double meaning in this one.

Thank you both, so much for reading. I value the pair of you immensely.

I am not surprised to hear this is not fully a poem about a ship. Your mind never walks a single path, does it?
I actually love this write. Coming from you, it speaks your true side.
