In the blankness that is
(no was)
My daylight thoughts
I've come to know one thing
(of which is now forgotten).

Silence steals the petals
from the rose
(and who knows what else)
When it rides the winds of
night.

In the chilled air of numbness
I wish
I dream
I try to recall
What it's like to feel-

But all I can feel
are the swiftly fading
memories
Of the time

You were not there.

I like this - not my favorite of yours so far - but it's ethereal, which goes with the picture. I do feel a little like I'm floating around; not sure if you wanted that, but I would like a little bit more to hold on to in this poem.
