Her nails left claw marks
running down the wall in crooked miles
that veered to the left,
As she fell, her knees crumbling
those old castle walls could no longer
support the wicked foundation that
found her
Vibrant and alive,
then gnawed on her loving bones
until only splinters were left and she
became the shadows of midnight
her tears became the dew and the
hurricane.
And as the final death blow came -
two strokes past the sun's descent
blood-red horizon,
her nails left claw marks on the rotting
walls while the moon hushed the shadows
and all fell to silence.

| Wow! This is like diving into the darkest of darks and the deepest of depths (which is a mixture of paranoia, defeat, and sorrow). You never fail to give me goosebumps, especially in this realm. Great job Poe. Kudos!

Thank you for reading and liking..... I like this one, myself, it resonates something personal for me, the images I get when I read it and those I had when I wrote it, I'm glad I could get those across.
